RUBBER HOSE FOR WATER PUMP

It is difficult to understate the importance of this rubber hose on the 456, 550, 575M, and 612 vehicles --- it is the primary coolant line from the back of the waterpump through the valley of the intake plenum. The original Ferrari version of this coolant hose was a standard rubber formulation which has a rather limited lifespan given its operating environment. The revised version of this hose, a genuine Ferrari item is multi-layer silicone and significantly more durable.

Access to this hose is somewhat cumbersome, as the entire intake assembly of must be removed -- so plan to change this hose during timing belt service intervals or whenever the waterpump is being serviced. We recommend additional replacement of gaskets 2 x 324050 (intake) and 2 x 154562 (on 456, 550M) or 2 x 181064 (on 575M, 612).
