Window Accelerator Installation
Instructions
- Remove door skin to expose the 2 wires that connect to
the window motor. These are normally yellow/blue on one side of the
connector and black/green nearer the motor winder itself.
- Place the module next to the raised metal box that is
in the center lower part of the door.
- Connect the blue ground wire to any metal portion of
the door. This could be under a bolt that holds the window motor
chassis, or any other suitable bolt. Be sure to clean the area of paint
from dirt so the ground wire makes a solid connection with the door metal.
After you have made the connection, wipe the area with light oil or grease to
prevent any corrosion.
- Connect the 2 brown wires of the module to the existing
wiring that runs to the window motor. It doesn't matter which ones you
connect to which motor wire, simply make sure that both are firmly
connected. It is advisable to keep all the wires as short as possible.
Where possible, cut the wires on this accelerator module as closely as
possible. The shorter the wire, the better the performance will be.
- Use a crimping tool and/or electrical tape to seal the
connections and reduce corrosion.
You're Done!
- To check that your wiring is correct and the ground is
suitable, leave the ground wire disconnected as you operate the window up or
down. Then, touch the ground wire onto the door frame as the window is
moving. You should notice a GREAT improvement in power and speed.
Once confirmed, firmly attach the ground wire as described above.
- Use double sided tape to attach the module to the base
of the door and ensure that it's location will not foul the movement of the
window glass itself.
- Because the power wiring to this box is via the factory
fuse board, there is no need for separate fuses. Once this is installed,
you should never need to access it again for maintenance.
